Applications

This cell line is a suitable transfection host.

Together the T1 and T2 lines are useful for studying antigen processing and T cell recognition of class I MHC antigens.

Storage Conditions liquid nitrogen vapor phase
Properties
Derivation
This line is a variant of the T1 cell line (ATCC CRL-1991)produced by selection the SFR1-MI.3 monoclonal antibody (against a monomorphic determinant on HLA DR).
Antigen Expression
HLA A2; CD7 +
Comments
The cells do not express HLA DR and are Class II major histocompatibility (MHC) antigen negative.
The cells synthesize, but do not express, HLA B5.

T2 appears to have lost both copies of the CEMR.3 derived chromosome 6.

The cells do not express HLA DR and are Class II major histocompatibility (MHC) antigen negative. The cells synthesize, but do not express, HLA B5.

Background
Complete Growth Medium The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Iscove''s Modified Dulbecco''s Medium, Catalog No. 30-2005. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 20%.
Subculturing
Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Start cultures at 3 X 105 viable cells/mL and maintain cultures between 3 X 105 and 1 X 106 viable cells/mL.
Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days
Cryopreservation
Freeze medium: Complete growth medium supplemented with 5% (v/v) DMSO
Storage temperature: liquid nitrogen vapor phase
Culture Conditions
Temperature: 37¡ãC
