Product Introduction
MEM¦Á (Alpha Modified Eagle Medium) is a modified formulation of MEM (Minimum Essential Medium). Compared to standard MEM, MEM¦Á contains a more enriched nutrient composition, with additional components including non-essential amino acids (NEAA), sodium pyruvate, zinc sulfate, vitamin B12, biotin, and ascorbic acid. It is widely used for the culture of various mammalian suspension and adherent cell types. MEM¦Á without ribonucleosides and deoxyribonucleosides is commonly used as a selection medium for DG44 and other DHFR-deficient cell lines.
This product contains amino acids, vitamins, inorganic salts, and other components necessary for various cell culture types, but does not contain proteins, lipids, or growth factors. Therefore, this product must be supplemented with serum or serum-free additives before use.

Shelf Life: 18 months from date of manufacture. After opening, use within 4-6 weeks when stored properly and handled aseptically.
Protocol (For Reference Only)
Important: Use aseptic technique when handling medium. Warm to 37¡ãC before use.
1. Preparation of Complete Medium: Supplement Alpha MEM Medium with fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 5-10% and add antibiotics as required. Mix gently.
2. Medium Pre-warming: Warm the required volume to 37¡ãC for 15-30 minutes before use.
3. Cell Feeding: Aspirate spent medium, replace with fresh pre-warmed complete medium, and return cells to 37¡ãC, 5% CO₂ incubator.
4. Subculturing: When cells reach 80-90% confluency, detach with trypsin-EDTA, neutralize with complete medium, and passage as appropriate.
5. Monitoring: Observe phenol red color indicator daily to assess pH.
